Arts Council
The Beaufort County Arts Council is a moving force that provides cultural opportunities through initiation, support, and presentation of artistic programs in Beaufort County. The Arts Council has been fulfilling its mission for almost 35 years! Located in the historic Coastline Train Depot in downtown Washington, the staff and volunteers of BCAC provide our community with a variety of arts experiences.
Annual events include the Fine Arts Show, the Student Art Show, the HeART of the City Concert Series, a Performance Series, a summer Art Camp for children, and the Holiday Arts & Craft Show. The Arts Council presents a variety of local and regional visual artists in the gallery area of the Washington Civic Center. BCAC also presents local performing artists in our effort to encourage and promote local talent.
Most programs offered by BCAC are free and open to the public. This is possible because of the support of our local municipalities, county and state governments, the local business community, Foundations, and most importantly - our members. Members and volunteers are essential in maintaining the quality and quantity of the work we do in Beaufort County.
