Art Exhibit: "Carolina Collection"

"Carolina Collection" features the work of avid sailor and painter Jim Wordsworth. It consists of original watercolor paintings and limited editions of favorite Carolina locations including Washington, N.C., Outer Banks, Ocracoke Island, Wrightsville and Wilmington areas, Morehead & Beaufort, Sunset Beach, Edenton, Bath, Hatteras, Chapel Hill, and rural North Carolina. The watercolor style is realistic and illustrates the artist’s keen eye for the details of the area.

The NC Estuarium is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

NC Estuarium River Roving Educational River Tours- Learn about the history and habitats of the Washington waterfront. These boat tours cruise the Pamlico River Wednesday through Friday at 10:30 and 12:45, and Saturdays at 10:30. No admission fee or other cost is involved for the tour, but advance reservations are required. Riders should check in 15 minutes in advance. Children must be at least 6 years old to ride; a responsible adult must accompany children under 16. Call 252-948-0000 for reservations.

This event features a 200 Bird Sporting Clays tournament with a 100 Bird FITASC event, 100 Bird Preliminary event, 50 Bird 20, 28, 410, Pump and Side By Side events and a 50 Bird 5-Stand event. We are very pleased to be announcing our 1 year anniversary! Thank you to everyone who continues to show their support for Lone Leaf Gallery & Custom Framing! Thank you to our amazing artists who inspire us to keep growing. And, thank you most of all to the town of Washington, NC where the Arts continue to flourish and help revitalize this beautiful and historic downtown district! Please celebrate with us on Friday July 30th, from 5-8 p.m. Light hors d'oeuvres and drinks will be served.

We will also be featuring a new series entitled 'Interruptions' by Ben Isburg. Ben lived in Greenville, NC from 2002 to 2008 and attended East Carolina University. He currently lives in Denver, CO where he continues to work as an artist. His series focuses on the use of xylene transfers, graphite drawings, and white gouache. The images are mostly light-hearted and humorous; combining different images in ways that allow the artist to smile or laugh. Ben labels them as illustrations of off-hand thoughts. He also shows a great interest in the placement or movement of imagery across the paper, returning to the challenge of basic design. The exhibition will run from July 30th

- September 18th.

The McKameys in Concert

The McKameys play about 150 days a year, traveling all over North America from Southern California on up to British Columbia and over to the East Coast, north to New Brunswick and south to Florida. They have had 21 number one singles and in 1999 were honored by their record label, Horizon, for having the most number one hits in the history of Southern Gospel Music. The group has been awarded several different Singing News Fan Awards through the years with Peg being named Favorite Female Vocalist 7 times. However, their fans say they believe the singers really are sincere about the message they present. "It's the joy of the Lord and the strong message in the songs they hear," Peg says. "We try to have fresh songs and new encounters with the Lord so we can pass them along to those in need of it.

$10 General Admission- $8 BCTMA Members unshackled.us Unshackled has been singing and playing Traditional Bluegrass Gospel music since 2002. They are based out of Washington, North Carolina. The group was formed as a result of local talents coming together on Saturday nights to play and sing at the home of Jimmy Chandler, of Chocowinity. Rev. Bobby L. Chandler, an original member was instrumental in forming the group. He gave the group a clear reason for it's foundation, which is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through music. In September of 2006 "Mr. Bobby" went home to be with his Lord. Because of his love for music and sharing the gospel; it is our desire to continue this work. Only one of the group's original members remain.
