It is about time we all agree on one thing this year… tacos are our favorite!

The Washington Tourism Development Authority (WTDA) is proud to present the Washington Taco Trail.  This tourism campaign serves to promote Washington’s many local Mexican restaurants and taquerias during a time where eating local is more important than ever.

As you make your journey, the WTDA would like to remind everyone to practice the 3 W’s: wear a face covering completely covering your mouth and nose when not at your table, wash your hands, and wait 6 ft apart between you and other people.

To start, all you need is the map!

Step 1: Dine at all of the restaurants.

Due the pandemic, some of these restaurants may have changed their hours. We recommend that you check online or call before heading out to eat.

Step 2: Take photos of your receipts from all locations.

Please take photos of all your receipts from each restaurant in order to cash them in for a prize. If you choose to take on the trail with a group, and all of your entrees are reflected on the same receipt, we will still accept them.

Step 3: Win a REALLY cool t-shirt!

In order to claim your prize, please e-mail your receipts to the WTDA at Please include a return address and your preferred T-shirt size (sizes are first come, first served based on availability). We will send you your prize in the mail. These contactless exchanges are an effort to keep you and our staff safe!

Win a t-shirt with this on the back!

Once you receive your prize, we would love to see you wearing it. Post a photo using the tag us @visitlittlewashington on Facebook or @littlewashingtonnc on Instagram, and we will share it to our story!

See you on the trail!
