Many small businesses are currently living in fear of their financial future as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to grow amongst the American population. Many of those small businesses are restaurants and bars.

Just a couple of weeks ago, the North Carolina governor mandated that all restaurants close their seating areas and offer take out service only, and it does not look like it will be ending any time soon. As a result, many Americans have lost their jobs and are claiming unemployment. However, each business has come up with creative ways to keep service going during this difficult time with limited staff and customers.

We call on you, the community of Washington, to rally for local dining more than ever before. Cases of COVID-19 are rising, so instead of heading to the grocery store, call your favorite local restaurant to place an order. Pull up curbside to snag a meal that is ready for the whole family without making public contact. Don’t want to leave the safety of your home? Ask the restaurant if they are running deliveries. Many of these restaurants are also offering to-go alcoholic beverages and grocery items, so be sure to ask for them when you call.
